Goals for my Observatory Project March 2022

It’s Been A While Since My Last Observatory Update

Why? Well, now that I have an observatory, I have been focusing on using it!

And I really love using it!

Along the way, I have continued to work on things, so I decided to create a video updating the progress made both inside and outside the observatory.

    Special Thanks!

I want to extend special thanks and credit to Wayne Prentice for providing the drone video footage and some of the video of the roof opening and closing sequences in this video! Wayne lives down the street from me, and I asked him if he could stop by so we could try some shots using both his drone and his Insta360 camera. We spent a couple of hours one day experimenting with ways to capture some of these shots. Thanks, Wayne - I really appreciate it!

    Projects Covered In This Video

Over the past few months, I have made progress on several fronts, and that’s what I wanted to share here. But before doing that, I also wanted to share some of the images I have produced from the observatory since it became operational.

So, I start with a review of recent images and then jump into a brief overview of what has been done recently:

    Exterior

    • Status of the Lawn Restoration

    • Adding shutters to the windows

    • Painting

      • of the door, and trim on the building

      • of the metal framework for the outriggers

    Interior

    • Sealing and Densifying the concrete floor

    • Red LED Lighting

    • White interior lights

    • Plans for a Gallery Wall

    • Plans for the countertop and cabinets for the north wall.

    Stay Tuned…

Once I complete the cabinets and countertops on the north wall, I will share a post on that as well.
