Update #1
July 27, 2021
Hi Folks,
It’s now been a couple of days since Cosgrove’s Cosmos went live and I thought I would make a quick update report.
Status. Things seem to be humming along fairly smoothly. We are all set up with google analytics and the google search console - and people are starting to find the website via searches. We have had visitors from about half of the states in the US, and about 6 countries worldwide so far.
Grammar/Spelling/Broken Links. Several people have reached out to identify misspellings/grammar issues - which I really do appreciate. I make those corrections as soon as I get them. If you find more - please pass them on!
Adding in portfolio images. I have been working hard to add in all of the images from my portfolio. When the site launched, there were 12 projects online. As of now, there are 27 online and more are being added every day.
The Email Subscription List. Email subscriptions are growing - thank you for taking the time and signing up! No newsletter has gone out yet - but that mechanism should be set up soon.
The first new Imaging project has been posted: Messier 24 - The Small Sagittarius Star Cloud. My goal here is to have announcements go out via email when a new posting is made, as well as to have the new posting cross-published on social media. I am still working on this part and I should have it up and running shortly.
Contact Page. I had a few inquiries via the contact page so I know that mechanism is working fine. Don’t be afraid to reach out if you have any questions or issues.
Comments. I have not seen any comments being made - so either it’s too early for that or perhaps something is broken. Try leaving a comment and see how that part of the website is working.
So my plan going forward is to continue to integrate the portfolio until it is all in place. Once that is complete, there are sections that I would like to add that include:
A section on image processing
A section identifying key hurdles in astrophotography and how to deal with them
An FAQ section - based on the questions I get
May your skies be clear,
Pat
