It’s Alive!

So What’s New?

Well - this website for one thing! I just published it for the first time today. I have Zero people visiting this site. I can only go UP from here!

Two years ago I started doing Astrophotography and did not have a clue what I was doing. I had a lot to learn.

Here I go again! I am starting a website - again not knowing what I am doing. Once again, I have a lot to learn. I hope you will bear with me as I figure this out.

My goal in creating this website is not to make money. This is not what this is about.

Sharing my images costs nothing - look all you want! Sharing tips about what I do and how I do it? Free again. I’m just hoping by doing this I might help someone working their way through what had me stuck at one point or another.

Running a webpage does have some costs associated with it. I would like to find ways to offset that in the future. Not sure how yet. Some people do affiliate links. Some people sell their prints. Some people try to build a following and host google ads.

But I will not be trying to sell you something.

If I say I like a piece of gear - it’s because I do. I don’t care if you buy one or not - that’s your business. I’m not selling it.

If you sign up to my email list, I will only be using your name and email address to share when a new post is available - I will not be selling your contact data. Cookies are collected just so I can analyze traffic patterns. Simple as that. If I end up doing some google ads - I will let you know before I do that.

I will not hold back the info I am sharing in an attempt to entice you to buy some premium membership or try to sell you my super-secret book of Astrophotography tips and techniques. I will just share them with you.

When it comes to Astrophotography, you may not agree with how I do things. That’s cool - you don’t have to. I am just sharing what seems to work for me.

A lot of people share only their best images. Not me. I will share them all. The evolution from those few crude images to what I can do now - is the Journey of Astrophotography. I fully expect my stuff will look better next year. I want to show an example of how a person might progress in Astrophotography. Also - some imaging efforts result in just HoHum images. I will show those as well - and talk about what went wrong.

This website is new and will be a new experience for everyone - including me! If you find a broken link or something that is not right - please let me know at Contact@CosgrovesCosmos.com or use the contact form- I will have it fixed! I will put my crack team of web experts on it! (meaning - I will google something and try to figure it out myself).

Also, note that this site is far from complete. I have about a dozen images set up now and many many more yet to go! It will take some time to move all of my images into the collection here - But I will keep at it!

I also have plans for sections that I have not even started yet! Heck - I don’t ever expect it to be completed really!

At any rate - Hope you enjoy it!
