Video - What Setting up Looks like using the Telescope Lifter/Transporter
Date: March 11, 2021
A Novel Thought
On the night of March 7th, 2021 - I had my first photon catching session of the year. I decided to get things set up in the driveway while it was still light out and then came out after dinner to hook up the computers and dial everything thing else.
The next morning it dawned on me that my security camera over the garage must have been triggered by the motion when I was setting up, and I probably had video snippets of the whole process. Hmmmmm………
I don’t ever really do much video and have zero experience with video editing - but I decided to use iMovie to see what I could do.
It’s my first attempt at video ever and not very polished - but thought folks might get a chuckle or two at my setup antics. The security camera has a mode that tries to identify “humans" and when it thinks it has one - it will put a red box around the suspected human. You will see that box appear in the video - well at least for some parts of the - the camera thought I might possibly be human - the other parts it clearly was not so sure what I was - thus no box….
I sped things up so the whole video is only 3 minutes long….
Hope my crude attempt here puts a smile on your face….
What it does show, however…
What my setup process looks like - and the benefit of having the Scope Lifter/Transporter. Without it, I had to:
Carry out two mounts ( just about what I could handle)
Add counterweights (always a little awkward!)
Mount Scopes (These are pretty heavy and you wish you had 3 hands)
Balance scopes
Hookup wires
Of course, you had to do the reverse at 5:30 am when you were a walking zombie - what could go wrong?
