Blackfriars Theater has asked to use my images in their production of "Silent Sky"

The local Blackfriar Theater group is doing a production of “Silent Sky”.

This is the story of Henrietta Leavitt, who began working at the Harvard Observatory in the early 1900s, at a time when women were not allowed to touch a telescope or express an original idea. Instead, she joins a group of women “computers”.

This is a great story of perseverance in the face of slow cultural change, and give credit where it is due.

The production company saw this website and contacted me through the ASRAS organization, asking if they could use some of my images in their production.

I was more than happy to support this request - in fact, I am honored to have my images used in this fashion.

When I began my journey into Astrophotography two years ago, I could not imagine my images having such use and I am pretty excited by this turn of events!

They chose 20 images and I provided them with high-resolution copies without the watermarks. Apparently, they will have five digital projectors covering 270 degrees at the front of the house where images will be projected before and during the production. Sounds like a pretty cool way to show my images!
